David McAskie was born on 24 July 1869 in Scarvagherin Ardstraw Co Tyrone. David was the son of David McAskie, the flax miller from Scarvagherin & his wife Isabella Boggs. David Snr was the brother of my great grandfather.

William and Mary Rice, ages 26 and 27. both born.New Jersey

   
David made a trip to Ireland and returned to New York from Derry in 1909 on the Caledonia. He was still single. He paid his own passage and said that he was going to join a relative - his uncle William Gordon at 22nd and Minton St Philadelphia. Have not connected this William Gordon as yet

David married Miss Elizabeth Turner on 02 Jan 1911 at Parsonage of Trinity ME Church Trenton - Rev Charles H Elder officiated. Their witnesses were Miss Anna Danbury and Mr James R McLernon. Address of both bride and groom was 216 Academy St in the First Ward Mercer Co.I  understand McAskie-Turner marriage 02 Jan 1911
