Rev Joseph McAskie born 6 April 1828 Ardstraw died 7 March 1891 Philadelphia was another child of James McAskie and Annie Moore of Creevy, Ardstraw. Rev Joseph was licensed as a Clergyman at Strabane Presbytery, Co Tyrone, then was ordained and preached in Clogherney Presbyterian Church Co Tyrone near Omagh 1850 - 1863 National Schools Tyrone 1863 Dervaghroy Clogherney

On 19 November 1850, Rev Joseph married Isabella Henry, daughter of Thomas Henry, a saddler, at Donegal Town 2nd Presbyterian Meeting House, Waterloo Place. The minister was - Rev William Niblock. She lived possibly at Benchrain Donegall? The marriage was registered at the Parish of Killymard. Their daughter Margaret Olivia Baird McAskie was born on 6 May 1865 at Castleblayney Co Monaghan Ireland
