John married Catherine Haliburton-Neillans in Sydney on 24/9/1850.

Read Buried Ships
The majority of what is known about the buried ships hidden under the streets of downtown San Francisco is from recollections of early day pioneers. Those major contributors included Charles Hare, Nicholas Bichard, George Howgate, and Fred Lawson. Portions of their recollections, along with those of other sources, are presented here. The John Calvin was off Rincon Point.

John & Catherine returned to Australia in 1857 on the Spree

Elizabeth(1823-1908) stayed in San Francisco.
She
married Thomas Noble (1827-1878) from Scotland before 1852.

It is not clear if she met him in Australia or later in San Francisco

However Thomas does not appear in US 1850 Census so likely
that he came from Australia as well.

They had 7 children, but in the 1900 Census Eliza said that she had
5 children living
Son Thomas was dead by then (Obit)so I am looking for one other living and one dead in 1900

Between 1889 &1891, Annie Eliza (Noble) Coey - San Francisco - corresponded with her cousin Agnes Moodie (McCaskie) Gunther - Sydney - photographs were sent to Sydney.

These letters led to this research. The photos have been kindly contributed by my NSW McCaskie "cousins"

Streets where this family lived were Clay St; McAllister St; Locust St; Golden Gate Ave;  Ellist St - can all be seen on this San Francisco map and here are the San Francisco Voting Wards 1866
