David Tom born 13/07/1887 married Helen Thompson Sinclair from Penicuick. Her parents married on 11/08/1881 - he was Henry Sinclair, a Paper worker and she was Marion Thompson. David Tom and Helen lived at Long Niddry - he was a master plumber. Isabella was the daughter of James Asher - from Elgin - and George was a carter by profession. He died 07/09/1924 at the age of 34 of a brain tumour. Before her marriage Isabella was first a housekeeper to a doctor in Roslin, Midlothian. Next she was housekeeper for minister Wallace in Traquair in the Borders. After their marriage George and Isabella moved to Dalkeith Her step sister Helen Asher married Alexander Whitelaw from Inveresk With Musselburgh - he had a grocer's shop there. Isabella went to work for her brother-in-law. Later the Whitelaws expanded by taking over a grocery business in Dalkeith. Later still they had a farm near Dalkeith, another shop in Black Shiels and a Dog Boarding kennels near Dalkeith. After George died Isabella supported her family by becoming caretaker of the Church Hall in Tate St Dalkeith.
