John Donaldson, born 1777 of Cloghore, Kilbarron Co Donegal had 6 known children, 3 of whom  emigrated to Queensland Australia:-

Robert (1825-1902) Simon (1841-1907) William (1842-1922)
Robert married his cousin Isabella Donaldson from Glenfinn Co Donegal in 1847 They emigrated in 1853 to Corinda Brisbane Australia

They had 3 children:-

a) John 1849 -1915, b) George 1852-1900 c) Samuel 1855-1918

a) John - nothing is known about him

b) George married twice
1) Annie Maria Neil in 1880 - 2 children Annie Georgina b 1881 & a baby lived one day 1884. Annie Maria died in 1885
.
2) He married his 2nd wife, Hannah Rebecca Allen 1856-1941 from Heydour Lincs, in 1886 -   5 children - John b 1887, Eva Allen born 1889, Edwin Lester born 1891, Ise May born 1893 & Lucy Marsh 1896-1969

Lucy Marsh married Albert Eugen Bruschweiler in Brisbane.

A son born 1924 married
1) Ester Merle Phillips(1927-86) on 14/09/1946 - 3 children.
2) He married again in 1990

A daughter b 1927 married Letcher James Sewell from Dunedin NZ in 1951. Family live in Mosgiel Otago

c) Samuel born 1855 married Amelia Clayson in 1885. Known children Robert b 1887 Samuel born 1889 & Alfred Thomas born 1892 - killed in action in France 1917.

William married Catherine Strong 1848-1920  - daughter of Hugh Strong and Jane Porteous, from Carnhugh Donegal in Brisbane, in 1869. They had 11 children:-

Robert John born 1870, James Hugh 1872-1917, Simon 1873-1949, (married Emily Florence Allen) William born  1875 George 1877-1946, Alexander 1878-1946, Isabella born 1880 Matthew Harold born 1882 Catherine born 1884 Arthur Henry 1886-1925 Elizabeth Beatrice born 1889

Arthur Henry was a jockey - he was killed in a horse racing accident.
Matthew Harold married Marion Lindsay Black and 2 other ladies after her death. From his 1st marriage he had 4 children Harold William (1912-2000), Ronald Alexander died 1965 and a living son and daughter

Son of Samuel and Amelia Donaldson, of Goodna, Queensland.

The original John Donaldson, born 1777, of Cloghore had another son George.

George (1830-1873) born Cloghore, Kilbarron, Co Donegal married Anne McBrien (1836-1885) in 1858.George was a farmer and corn mill & kiln owner at Cloghore.
They had 7 children - 5 emigrated to Australia  - see Donaldson Cloghore page.

Margaret born 1859 stayed at home and married John Ovens on 14 Jun 1879 at C of I Kilbarron.

Emily Jane marr William Tate, Margaret marr Arthur Ovens, William John, Thomas marr Ann Nott, Arthur, Robert, Hugh marr Martha Nott and Ellen marr Thomas Raymond Edwards in Brisbane in 1927

Nothing is known about Mary Ann born 1864

Elizabeth married James McBrien born 1860 Rosscor Co Fermanagh in Brisbane on 8/8/1885.They had  3 sons and 3 daughters

Fanny married Hugh Magee/McGee 1860-1932, of Brownhall Donegal in Brisbane on 6/4/1887. Fanny died aged only 23 in 1889. They had 1 daughter Annie Eilleen 1888-1945, who married David Connelly 1889-1946, Comber, Co Down They had 9 children. I am in touch with a descendant in Queensland who has kindly contributed this information.
 
Queensland wedding The group has David Connelly, standing on the left.The lady seated left is possibly Fanny Donaldson's daughter Annie.The photo was taken  around 1913-1920  in Fortitude Valley. Can anyone identify the others in the photo?
Jane married Andrew McAnally of Carrick-on-Tyne in Brisbane 25/5/1891.
They had  at least 1 son and 2 daughters		 William died unmarried in Brisbane
   
Isabella Anne married twice 1) John Robert McCullagh in Brisbane in 1896 2) James Robertson in Southport in 1913. There were no children.
