| Elizabeth McAskie was born 1862, the daughter of David McAskie and Isabella Boggs, from Scarvagherin Flax Mill. She was known as Lizzie. She married a Mr Smith and before/after she emigrated to USA, supposedly Philadelphia . They had a son David McAskie Smith. Mr Smith was killed in an accident and Eliza and her son returned to Tyrone. | |||

farm from his uncle William McAskie who died unmarried. However David also died young and

| Eliza decided to sell the
farm and move first to Spamount village nearby, then eventually moved to live at the
seaside at Portstewart, Co Derry where she died. In 1901 census she was living with her aunt Sara (Stewart) McAskie's mother Mary Stewart Bills for the sale of the farm are dated 1928 |
