Banff.
She was the daughter of John Symon and Jean Anderson.

William married Mary Jessie McConnachie on 25/08/1911 at Elgin

Alexander was born 08/03/1867 at Inveresk With Musselburgh, Midlothian he
was a grocer and wine merchant at Gorebridge Midlothian.
His parents were David Whitelaw born 1835 and Elizabeth Muirhead born 1836. In 1881
they were living at 160 High St Inveresk. He was a carter, born Tranent, Haddington and
she was born at Borthwick, near Gorebridge.
Alexanders siblings were Ellen,
David, James, Alexander, William., Bessie, Peter and Maggie
Alexander Whitelaw's 1st wife was Helen Lind Weir born
1864. They married on 12/10/1892. Her parents were James Weir, an engine keeper and
Elizabeth Dane.

Weir were:-
Elizabeth Dane Muirhead known as Tiffy, born 1893 who married a Mr Bradden and
lived in Musselburgh.
David born 1894 at 6 Athol Terrace Edinburgh, an income tax inspector living son is
a doctor

children. Helen was a teacher and lived at Upper Keith Humbie in 1899. Alexander was then
living at Fala Blackshiels. Their children were:-

Alexander born 1902 married Jessie Ross Proctor in 1929 from Elgin. They had 2
daughters. Alexander worked as a gardener first for Duke of Buccleuch at Dalkeith House,
then at Cullen House Elgin, where he met his wife who was a cook, later at Pollock House
Glasgow where he was the head gardener, finally at Auchengare House near Helensburgh
Dumbartonshire - left 1933. Jessies parents were John Grant Johnston Proctor and
Jane Dean from Urquhart

Isabella Lothian Lockie from Kelso was living in Elgin - it
is thought that she was housekeeping for a minister there. She married James Asher and
they later returned to Kelso. She died 04/06/1939
Isabella was the daughter of George Lockie and Isabella
Proctor. They were married on 20/11/1853 in Kelso.
They had 2 known children:
Alexander born 1858. In 1881 he was a butcher in Kelso and lodging with Jane Young, a
widow who lived at 3 Duns Wynd Kelso.
2nd child Isabella married James Asher. They had 2 known
children:-
Isabella Proctor Asher who married George Hunter and her
sister who married Mr Whitelaw from Gorebridge
